Apartments Surrounding Gainesville -- There Are More Choices Than You Think!

Maybe you've already been to college, and you don't want to live in a college town again. Or, maybe you want to be close enough to all of Gainesville's entertainment while living somewhere with a slower pace. Luckily, there are plenty of apartments surrounding Gainesville. In fact, there are more choices than you think!

Here's what you need to know if you're thinking of apartment hunting outside the Gainesville city limits:

- Alachua is less than 30 minutes to the north

Don't confuse Alachua with Alachua County! Alachua is its own city, and at last count, only about 10,000 people lived here, so it's a great place to rent an apartment if you're looking for a quieter lifestyle. But on those days when you want to soak up the big city fun in Gainesville, all you have to do is hop on I-75 and head south. In less than 30 minutes, you'll be right in the heart of Gainesville.

- High Springs is even smaller

If you want an apartment that's close to some of the best snorkeling and tubing in the entire state, look for one of the apartments surrounding Gainesville in High Springs. Located less than 25 miles northwest of Downtown Gainesville, the springs that this city is named for are popular with tourists, but there are only about 5,000 people who live here full-time. The natural springs here are 72 degrees all year long, so you'll be able to take a dip anytime you want!

- Newberry is its own city

Yes, there's a Newberry Road in Gainesville, but there also a city named Newberry just to the southeast of Gainesville. As you might have already guessed, all you have to do is hop on Newberry Road and head west. In about 30 minutes, you'll be in Newberry.

Like the other cities we've talked about, Newberry is popular with families because it offers a quieter lifestyle -- yet when you live in the apartments here, you'll have an easy commute if you want to work or play in Gainesville.

- There's a city named Archer, too

It's easy to get from Gainesville to the apartments in Archer. All you have to do is head west on Archer Road, go past I-75, and in about 25 minutes, you'll be in Archer. With just over 1,100 people calling it home, this is the smallest of all the Gainesville suburbs, but the tight-knit community here is awfully proud of their history!
