Apartments in Livingston Parish -- Keeping Up with Its Big Baton Rouge Neighbors

Head east of Baton Rouge for a few miles on I-12, and you'll end up in Livingston Parish.  Even though this is a completely separate parish, it's still considered part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan area.  And because it offers direct access to Baton Rouge, the cities here have become very popular suburbs.
Here's what you can expect if you rent an apartment in Livingston Parish:
-  Steady growth
Three of the most talked-about places in Livingston Parish are Denham Springs, Walker, and Watson, because each one is becoming more and more popular. Denham Springs' population jumped by 15% between 2000 and 2008, while Walker saw 28% growth in the 2000's.  Watson is the smallest of these communities -- only taking up less than one square mile -- but its population jumped a whopping 54% between 2000 and 2010!
It's proof that if you're looking for an apartment in Livingston Parish, you're definitely not alone!
-  Lots of shopping
Thanks to all of that growth, there are plenty of places to give your credit card a workout in Livingston Parish.  Denham Springs is actually home to one of the biggest Bass Pro Shops in the entire country.  There is also a Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Hibbett Sports, and two Walmart Supercenters here -- one in Denham Springs and one in Walker -- and Denham Springs also has three different shopping plazas that are chock full of retailers, so you won't have to travel far to do your "regular" errands.
If you want to head to a traditional mall for the day, you'll be happy to know that the Mall of Louisiana is only about 20 minutes away.
-  A conservative political landscape
While Baton Rouge Parish tends to vote red, Livingston Parish takes the conservatism up a notch.  Not only is this one of the most Republican parishes in the state, but it's one of the most Republican parishes in the entire country.  So, if your politics lean to the left, you may not like the landscape here.
-  A variety of dining options
Your taste buds can afford to be picky if you rent an apartment in Livingston Parish, because the restaurants here offer virtually every type of food you can imagine!  Like the rest of the Baton Rouge area, there's no shortage of seafood and Cajun cuisine.  But you may be surprised to learn that one of the most popular restaurants with the locals actually serves sushi!  And in true Louisiana form, Geisha Sushi with a Flair also has a Fat Tuesday roll, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
