Gainesville Apartments Near Archer Road -- You Can't Get More Centrally-Located!

Whether you're moving to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida or you've gotten a job that's completely separate from the university, if you want to live smack-dab in the middle of town, you need to check out the Gainesville apartments near Archer Road.

Archer runs east-west through the center of town, passing by UF's southern side, the UF College of Dentistry, UF's College of Veterinary Medicine, the UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital, and the Malcolm Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Archer also intersects with I-75, so it'll give you an easy way to get in and out of town.

Here's what else you need to know if you're considering renting a Gainesville apartment near Archer Road:

- It's home to every restaurant you can think of… and then some!

Because it's so centrally-located, Archer Road is home to an endless array of chain restaurants, fast food joints, and even some upscale local restaurants. So, whether you need a quick bite to eat or you're celebrating something special, you won't have to travel far from your apartment to do it.

You'll find the highest concentration of restaurants near the intersection of Archer Road and 34th Street. In fact, if you head just a couple of blocks south of Archer on 34th Street, you'll end up at Embers Wood Grill -- an upscale steakhouse that the locals love for special occasions.

- There's no shortage of shopping, either

The only thing that rivals the number of restaurants along Archer Road is the number of stores! There isn't a "traditional" mall along this street (you'll have to head north to Newberry Road to go to the Oaks Mall), but there is an endless array of stand-alone stores and shopping centers. The biggest shopping venue is actually still being built. Crews broke ground on the University Towne Center, a 60,000 square foot site that sits at the intersection of Archer Road and 34th Street, in 2014.

- There's more green space than you might think

Between all of the stores and restaurants, you might think that there's no room for Mother Nature near Archer Road. Luckily, that's not the case! There are actually a number of parks here, including the Lake Alice Conservation Area that sits on the UF campus. You'll find most of the quiet green space on the west side of I-75, though -- including a dog park and the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens.

- You'll have a short commute

Because Archer Road is so centrally-located, odds are your job will be close to your new apartment. As you can probably guess, the University of Florida is Gainesville's largest employer -- and by living near Archer, you'll be close to work. The healthcare industry also plays a big role in the local economy. Since the VA and Shands are both located along Archer, you won't have to travel far to get to work in the morning!
